The Canon EOS R7 brings APS-C power to the EOS R system with a 32.5MP APS-C CMOS sensor. It strikes the perfect balance between resolution, speed, and low-light performance, making it an excellent choice for both photography and video. The high-resolution sensor even allows for 7K oversampling, delivering sharper, more detailed 4K footage with reduced noise.

At its core is the DIGIC X processor, the same one used in Canon’s flagship R3. This powerhouse enables lightning-fast performance, including 30 fps burst shooting with the silent electronic shutter or 15 fps with the mechanical shutter, all while keeping autofocus and auto-exposure accurate. The processor also supports a broad ISO range of 100–32,000 (expandable to 51,200), giving you flexibility in challenging lighting conditions.

Advanced Video Capabilities

Videographers will love the UHD 4K recording at up to 60p using the full width of the sensor. For maximum sharpness and reduced artifacts, the camera can also use its 7K sensor area to oversample 4K at 30p. Slow-motion lovers can capture Full HD at 120p. With support for 10-bit Canon Log 3 and HDR-PQ recording, the R7 offers professional-level color grading options and HDR workflows.

Autofocus & Stabilization

Borrowing from the EOS R3, the R7 features Dual Pixel CMOS AF II with 651 autofocus points that cover nearly the entire frame. It can intelligently detect and track people, animals, and vehicles, keeping them in sharp focus even during high-speed bursts. Autofocus remains reliable in very low light, down to -5 EV.

For handheld shooters, the In-Body Image Stabilization (IBIS) corrects up to 7 stops of camera shake. When paired with compatible stabilized lenses, this can increase to 8 stops, making low-light and handheld shooting smoother and sharper.

Viewfinder, Screen & Body Design

The camera sports a 2.36m-dot OLED electronic viewfinder with a 120 Hz refresh rate for fluid, lag-free viewing. Complementing it is a 3.0” vari-angle touchscreen LCD with 1.62m-dot resolution, perfect for shooting from creative angles or vlogging.

The body itself is dust- and moisture-sealed, inspired by the robust EOS R3. Redesigned controls, including a combined AF joystick and rear control wheel, make handling intuitive. Dual UHS-II SD card slots ensure reliable and flexible file storage, especially when shooting 4K video or high-speed bursts.
