Display
This basically is the same display as the one present on the Oppo A95. One would say that one is AMOLED and the other OLED. To which we respond, what difference is there? Well, what we have got here? A very nice 6.43 inch OLED display with 2,400 by 1080P resolution and what equals 409 PPI. It’s got the standard 60 Hertz refresh rate and 120 Hertz touch sampling rate. Well, the display is bright enough to use indoors and outdoors. It has crisp screen colors that are vibrant and offers good viewing angles.
The screen can also go up to a total brightness of 600 nits. As usual, the display of Oppo A96 is customizable from your usual night mode and screen color mode to dark mode settings that can let you set how dark you want to go. You can also get an Always-On display and low brightness flicker-free iComfort option. As for the ratio of the display to that of the body of the phone, it is an 85.3% screen-to-body ratio. Also, note that the Fingerprint is under this display and it is an optical one.
Cameras
This model consists of a dual-camera setup featuring a main 48 MP, f/1.7, 26mm (wide), PDAF, and a 2 MP, f/2.4, (depth). It is definitely worthy of your social media uploads. You can zoom up to 2X, 5X, and 10X. For selfies, it performs pretty well, especially in bright conditions.
Oppo A96 can capture some sharp selfies with a natural-looking skin tone. The selfie also supports portrait shops. There’s also a front night mode that lets you take clear and brighter selfies even in dark areas. For videos, users can shoot up to 4K@30fps, 1080p@30/60/120fps, gyro-EIS, and the impressive. This is with the main camera since videos of the selfie are capped at 1080p@30fps. Video stabilization is also present so you don’t have to worry about shaky videos.
Platform
Fixing our attention now to the software department of Oppo A96 is ColorOS 11.1 which is based on Android 11. There are tons of customization options here where you can change icon styles, app layout, fingerprint style, change font, and colors. There’s also an app drawer option in the settings and you can easily adjust the navigation buttons the way you want them to be arranged. Storage-wise out of the A96 4G’s 256 GB that you get. what you are left with is 229 GB out of the box.
The Oppo A96 has a Qualcomm SM6375 Snapdragon 695 (6 nm) chipset which is brand new. It has been totally revamped in comparison to its predecessor and has both more powerful cores and 4G connectivity. This one is great for day-to-day tasks and it is also pretty good with games. Present here also is an Octa-core (2×2.2 GHz Kryo 660 Gold & 6×1.7 GHz Kryo 660 Silver) CPU and an Adreno 619 GPU. Its, GPU, performance is 60% better compared to the Adreno 612 graphics card and in our benchmarks on par with the 700 series cards.
